SEMI Technology Coalition the ESD Alliance announced today in its latest Electronic Design Market Data (EDMD) report that Electronic System Design (ESD) industry revenue rose by 12.7% to $5,747.8 million in Q1 2026 from $5,098.3 million in Q1 2025 (four-quarter moving average increased by 10.3%).
The electronic design automation industry continued to report strong year-over-year revenue growth in Q1 2026. All product categories reported gains, with computer-aided engineering and semiconductor intellectual property (IP) showing double-digit growth. The Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions reported growth in Q1, with double digit increases in EMEA and APAC.
The firms tracked in the report employed 72,544 people worldwide in Q1 2026, a 12.6% rise over the Q1 2025 headcount of 64,403 and up by 1.1% compared to Q4 2025.
