The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) just reported that global semiconductor sales amounted to $120.6 billion in May 2026, an increase by 9.2% compared to April 2026 ($110.5 billion) and 104.1% more than May 2025 ($59.1 billion), hitting the highest-ever recorded monthly sales total and increasing on a month-to-month basis for the 15th consecutive month in May. Worldwide chip sales in May more than doubled compared to last year.
