SEMI just reported in its Worldwide Semiconductor Equipment Market Statistics (WWSEMS) Report that global semiconductor equipment billings rose by 19% year-over-year to $30.38 billion in Q3 2024 while quarter-over-quarter billings registered a 13% growth during the same period. Compiled from data submitted by SEMI members and the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ), the WWSEMS Report is a summary of the monthly billings figures for the global semiconductor equipment industry.
The robust Q3 2024 growth of the global semiconductor equipment market has been driven by investments aimed at supporting the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) and the production of mature technologies. North America posted the largest year-over-year gain while China continues to lead in spending.
